Commercial Air Conditioning Program
How it Works
This program is designed to increase the installation of high-efficiency air conditioning in small commercial facilities by providing incentive payments to air conditioning distributors and dealers.
Distributors are defined as any entity that sells or sources equipment to dealers, such as manufacturer’s representatives, wholesalers, or "supply houses."
Requirements
- The facility receiving the installation of the new air conditioning equipment must be located in Oncor’s service area.
- Facilities served by electric cooperatives or municipal systems are not eligible.
- End-use customers must be informed of the program and be aware that an onsite inspection of the installation may occur.
- Incentives are paid to the participating distributors and dealers. Customers are not eligible to receive direct payment from Oncor.
- Air conditioning units ranging from one to 20 tons in size must comply with ASHRAE 90.1, with a minimum 10 EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) for existing replacement units, and a minimum 11 EER for new construction.
Incentives
- Incentive amounts vary by efficiency, size range and building type.
- Equipment installed under any other Oncor Energy Efficiency Program where an incentive is paid is not eligible for this program. Incentives are paid under only one program.
- No incentives are paid for installations that fail inspections and when proper documentation is not furnished to Oncor.
